Agricultural Technology & Production Management and Agricultural Education Building

Proposal building draft.

WSU is proposing a building to provide laboratory, shop and classrooms needed to effectively deliver the dynamic, hands-on agricultural programming sought after by students and driven by rapidly evolving industry needs.

The Agricultural Technology and Production Management and Agricultural Education Building is on the WSU capital budget request for the 2029-2031 Washington state biennial budget cycle. The current state request is for $10,000,000 – a fraction of the total estimated cost of the building based on a 2022 feasibility study (see link below). We need to show major progress in other areas of fundraising to increase the state capital budget contribution and move the building up on the WSU priority list. Please help us realize this vision!

Agricultural Education

We are proud to be the premier ag teacher preparation program in the state of Washington. Our students are value-added graduates who are eagerly pursued for job placings. In the last 5 years, we have placed over 94% of our graduates with agricultural education careers or graduate school and 98% placement within the agricultural sector. A few of the aspects that strengthen our program and the experience of our students include:

  • Developing close relationships with a cohort of classmates who become colleagues
  • The ability to earn two Curriculum for Agriscience Education (CASE) pre-service certifications for national agriscience curriculum
  • A strong scientific and applied agricultural background developed through coursework
  • Smaller class sizes within your major specific classes (~20 or less)
  • Opportunities for agriculturally-related work and research experience
  • Engagement in pre-service professional development through the WSU Agricultural Education Club and our partnerships with Washington FFA and the Washington Association of Agricultural Educators
  • Becoming a part of the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) and Cougar Family and Network.
