Soils are everywhere. We walk on them all the time and do not think about them. Yet this very diverse and complex part of our environment provides us with so many things, ranging from the source for many current anti-biotics to the food that we eat every day. In the Irrigated Soil Management Program at WSU-Prosser, we focus on managing soil, soil water, and plant nutrients to produce high quality agricultural products. Research consists of a combination of lab, greenhouse, and field work, with many of the field trials taking place directly on the farms of collaborating growers. The program also includes extension outreach to growers and teaching outreach to students, both undergraduate and graduate.
