Awards and Achievements

Patrick Freeze was honored as a Distinguished Scholar at the third annual Distinguished Scholars Celebration on October 5.

Henry Sintim has won first place in the student Oral and Poster Competition of the Soil Physics and Hydrology Division at the Annual Meeting of SSSA in Phoenix.

Xiaochi Ma won third place in the student poster competition for the Crop Irrigation Strategies and Management Community at the ASA, CSSA, SSSA Annual Meetings for the poster “Assessing Impacts of Direct Root-Zone Irrigation on Grapevine Physiology.”

Megan Lewien won first place in the student poster competition in the Crop Science Society divisions 1 and 7, plant breeding and plant genomics.

Markus Flury has been named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
