President Elson S. Floyd Leaves Unparalleled Education Legacy

Elson S. Floyd, the 10th president of Washington State University and a nationally respected voice for affordable, accessible higher education, died on June 20th of complications from colon cancer. He was 59. (Read More)

 

Awards and Achievements

Dr. Jizhong Zhou, who received his Ph.D. from WSU in 1993 and is now an endowed professor at the University of Oklahoma at Norman, was selected for the 2014 Ernest Orlando Lawrence Award. (Read More)

Maninder Chahal has received the Robert Luxmoore Travel Award from the Soil Physics and Hydrology Division of the SSSA. This award will provide her $750 towards her travel costs for the annual meeting and Maninder will give her presentation at the Oral Lightning and Poster Session of the Division at the Annual Meeting in Minneapolis.

The Western Section meeting of the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB) will be held in Pullman on June 26-28. Please register and submit abstracts by June 15. Lectures will be in the WSU Smith Center for Undergraduate Education (CUE; Room 203). The banquet, luncheon, dinner, and poster sessions will be in the the Compton Union Building (CUB) Banquet Hall.
