SUMMARY:Seminar - Xianran Li
DESCRIPTION:“Phenotypic plasticity mediated adaptation: a tale from integrating citizen science and open science” \nXianran Li is a Research Biologist specializing in Computational Bioinformatics at the USDA-ARS Wheat Health\, Genetics\, and Quality Research Unit located in Pullman\, WA. He also holds an Adjunct Faculty position at the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences in Washington State University. \nHe obtained his B.S. in Beijing Institute of Technology in 2000\, and Ph.D. degree in China Agricultural University in 2008. After finished postdoc training at Kansas State University between 2009 to 2012\, he moved to Iowa State University as a postdoc researcher\, Research Assistant Professor\, then Adjunct Associate Professor. \nXianran Li’s research focuses on comprehending how interactions between genes and environment impact on crop domestication\, adaptation\, and performance. His lab integrates publicly available genetic\, genomic\, enviromic databases to address intriguing biological questions.
