Education

B.S. 1976, Cornell University (Plant Science)
M.S. 1979, North Dakota State University (Weed Science, Biochemistry)
Ph.D. 1984, Michigan State University (Weed Science, Herbicide Resistance Mechanisms)

Research

I have been involved in weed science research for over 20 years, ranging from biochemistry to applied field research. I have studied wheat quality traits in recent years, especially the role of polyphenol oxidase in darkening of wheat products. Most recently I have become involved in developing cropping systems for economically viable organic crop production in the Palouse region.
